We begin with an affordable $299.99 private consultation. During this consultation, we take time to understand the patient’s wishes, medical situation, family and caregiver concerns, timing, comfort needs, location preferences, and available budget. C-MAID coordinators work directly with patients and their families to begin shaping a thoughtful plan for a comfortable, peaceful, and compassionate end-of-life experience. If the patient chooses to move forward with C-MAID services, the consultation fee will be applied toward the overall cost of the selected service plan.

C-MAID is not a one-size-fits-all program. Some patients need a clean, simple, peaceful space, and want to be left alone. Others may desire some companionship along the journey or desire a more private retreat-style environment with additional comforts, family accommodations, chef-prepared meals, linen service, legacy projects, music, art, remembrance planning, or other meaningful activities. Regardless of the individual or situation, C-MAID coordinators go above and beyond to exceed expectations and raise the standards of care. We work with a wide range of personal tastes, needs, and budgets to shape each stay around the patient’s values and vision, while keeping comfort, privacy, dignity, and pain-management coordination at the center of the mission from the very beginning.

Because availability, accessibility, stairs, mobility needs, staffing, and patient safety must all be considered, not every participant will be placed at the location shown in the photographs. C-MAID operates through Compassion Center Oregon and works with locations and resources across the state to support patients as capacity allows. As an extension of Compassion Center, an Oregon public charity, patients and families are encouraged to inquire regardless of ability to pay. Financial assistance or scholarship support may be available in certain cases, subject to funding, eligibility, and program capacity.

Placement is generally coordinated on a first-come, first-served basis, with every reasonable effort made to match each patient with the most appropriate available setting.

All C-MAID-supported locations, coordinators, and support personnel are prepared to provide a respectful, private, and supportive environment for the patient and their loved ones. Our goal is to help families arrive, settle in, nest, ask questions, understand the process, and prepare for a peaceful and compassionate transition without fear, judgment, confusion, or the feeling that they have to face this alone.

Participation in Oregon’s medical aid-in-dying process depends on legal and medical eligibility, physician participation, required documentation, and the patient’s own voluntary decision. A consultation with C-MAID does not guarantee eligibility, approval, prescription, placement, or outcome.

If the patient has already discussed medical aid in dying with a primary care provider, hospice provider, specialist, or other medical professional, please let us know during the intake process. If available, related medical records, visit notes, hospice documentation, diagnosis information, medication lists, or prognosis documentation may help independent participating providers better understand the patient’s situation and next steps.
