We understand the journey, the challenges and the future of Medical Aid In Dying (MAID), not because it is a program of CIFR, but because we have navigated the process as an organization and a family seeking relief under these laws. 

The Center for Medical Aid In Dying at Compassion Center Oregon is fostered in memory of the Compassion Center’s own Emeritus Vice President of Research & Development, Elizabeth W. Guilfoy, who chose Death With Dignity under Oregon law and exercised Medical Aid In Dying (MAID). It is our hope that you and your loved ones will experience less barriers to exercise your rights under Oregon’s Death With Dignity Act. Thank you for your courage, and sacrifices.
